Dog Tired
Night Time Chats
Caleb "Sara, you need to be patient"
Sara, "Why?"
C "Because God is patient"
S "Why?"
C "Because God wants you to obey Mommy"
S "God he made the houses?"
C "No, people made the houses"
S "WHY?"
C "B/c they had to do a lot of pounding"
C "God made the people"
S "Boogie, why can't we eat napkins?"
C "Because they would get stuck"
S "Can I wear a dress tomorrow?"
and so it goes.........the two share a room and seem to love it. I love the words of wisdom from big brother. I started typing as fast as I could as they were talking...I know I missed a few funny ones...but this was too cute....they have now been told to stop talking and go to bed now. So I suppose the post must end.

Missing in Action!
WOW! I haven't posted in two months! And there have been sooooooo many news worthy posts! Now we are having to move in a month...so my brain is on organizing...getting rid of stuff...and packing.
But briefly...Hannah is nine months and CRAWLING! I'm not looking forward to all these "firsts" this go around....because they are the last of the firsts :( I haven't had a chance to download pics...but the next post will have pics of Hannah now!
Caleb is still loving school...we took him out of soccer because of the move....just too much to do. :( He loves going to all of his classmate's birthday parties though!
Sara is still a hoot! Her vocabulary blows me away!
OK...that's enough of a boring post. I hope to post before the next two months! HA!

Before I Was a Mom

I know you have all seen this...and I am sure you have been forwarded this a million times. But I always enjoy reading it and we as mom's can relate...and even add on to this. In fact, just for fun, if you think of something to add on write it in a comment! So just for fun here it is: (btw...those are Hannah's feet)
Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom.

God is Bigger than the Boogie Man....
....So I was on my way to church with the kids (Alex always goes early so it's just me and the kids)....and I felt something in my hair. (You see where this is going don't you). So I'm still driving...then I put my hand in my hair...and yes.....this picture is what it was! (How did I get a picture of it you ask? As a mother of small children...I have learned to almost always have the camera with me. What possessed me to ACTUALLY take a picture of it? if you blog...you know why! :)) So I stop the car..and yes I screamed! Just like a good 'ol biolgy teacher! Just because I teach biology does NOT mean I like insects. Much less in my hair. Much less when I am driving. I'm sure it was quite the scene to see me trying to get it out of the car so I could drive in peace. The kids were asking me "what mommy? what??? why are you screaming?!" "Oh I have a bug in my hair and it scared me"....so my faithful Veggie Tale watchers in the back seat started singing! "God is bigger than the boogie man....He's bigger than Godzilla or the monsters on tv...oh God is bigger.....". That made me laugh! The little lessons that they are learning in life, one is fear, they are learning that God IS bigger. AMEN!

Baby's first Christmas!
This is Hannah's first Christmas...what a blessing to have our little treasure as yet another amazing gift from God. She had fun with the wrapping paper! After opening this present..that was it for her! She needed her morning nap!
Caleb sportin' his new Superman cape mommy made for him!
Superman and a little princess...
Oh boy! Their first games! We've already played them....they love them! Thank you Aunt Jody and Uncle Tom!
Here is my little princess!!
Thanks sweet friend for my present! I've already started reading it! I'm still looking for chocolate as being one of the veggies in there....because it does come from a bean right? :)
The night before the kids and I read the Christmas story and talked about the real meaning of Christmas. Caleb wanted to wish Jesus a happy birthday! Then I asked Caleb what his favorite gift was...and he told me "God mommy". No prompting I promise. It is fun starting our traditions with our family like the Christmas cookies and stockings...and focusing on the reason for the season.
